Today, the CRN team is gearing up for the biggest event in the channel calendar - The Channel Awards!
One of the distinguished finalists at this year's awards is Glu Group, which is a contender for Channel Service Provider of the Year - Tech.
Here we talk to its co-founder Richard Goodman (pictured) about the company's highs and successes in 2022.
What would winning a CRN Channel Award mean to you?
As a 3-time CRN Channel Award Finalist it would mean a lot.
Although winning the award would be a fantastic achievement, it would mean so much more as a form of recognition for our team, who have been working extremely hard to support the Channel in the last 12 months.
What have been your highlights of 2022 so far?
Glu had some individuals who were promoted this year and it has been a highlight to watch them grow into their new roles.
Other than this it must be the uptake of our Customer Experience Platform Horizon, which has been phenomenal to see the impact it has had for the partners who are using it.
What's the most interesting industry trend you've noticed this year?
There has been an explosion of eco-Partners within the channel due to subscription-based selling which is changing the channel for distributors, partners, and customers.
There definitely seems to be a recognition in the last year that partnering and having a complimentary eco-system is key.
How has your partner strategy evolved in 2022?
Glu is a Channel only business and our strategy has remained the same in 2022, which high level is to support everything Customer Experience related in addition to helping partners move into areas where they once would have not taken the risk or had the skill set, capacity or time to do so.
What are you most looking forward to about 2023?
The ongoing development of our Horizon platform will continue to add value to the Partners by simplifying and automating their customer engagements to execute business outcomes.
In 2023 we will be releasing some new functionality and we are very excited about this.

Richard is the Co-Founder of Glu and is a visionary who has successfully delivered business transformation across infrastructure and security with Customer Experience at the heart of what he does.
Richard comes from a customer background, and has held senior IT roles in large retail organisations and as such, brings invaluable insight to the Channel and now works to help reactive suppliers become strategic Partners.
