Global provider of cloud management software SkyKick has launched a new application to help MSPs with security issues for Microsoft 365 services.

In surveys and conversations with its channel partners, SkyKick has found that security continues to be the next big opportunity in its ecosystem to help Managed Service Providers deliver security services to their customers.

Microsoft is making an unprecedented push behind security and M365 premium this year and yet Skykick is hearing how partners are being held back by numerous challenges from staffing issues to technical readiness.

This has led to the launch of SkyKick Security Manager which it says will "pave the way" for mainstream partners to increase their security services offerings.

Security Manager is the fourth addition to SkyKick's growing suite of cloud management applications which it says is purpose-built to help partners better protect customers in the cloud and reduce their cost and complexity of delivering security services.

"We are excited to once again be moving the industry forward by making it easy and powerful for IT Service Providers to manage and automate Microsoft 365 security," said SkyKick co-CEO Todd Schwartz.

"Security is clearly top-of-mind for our partners and so many of their customers. We created SkyKick Security Manager as an application purpose-built for ITSPs to find, fix and automate security across thousands of potential security issues for Microsoft 365 services - unlocking the path to a more successful cloud security practice for partners."

Security top concern for MSPs

SkyKick partners have said reactive security tickets make up 21 per cent of the workload on help desk teams, who are already stressed due to staffing limitations and rising ticket volumes.

A smaller, ten-person IT service provider primarily focused on SMB-relevant applications like Microsoft 365 could be spending as many as 2,500 hours a year on security tickets like MFA, phishing and Single Sign-on authentication, the vendor claims.

Its partner community are already involved with M365 security, working with email, Teams and SharePoint, SkyKick said, adding that delivering Multi-factor Authentication and Single Sign-On has become table stakes.

Microsoft itself has ramped up focus on the rising cyber threats with a new security competency in its refreshed Microsoft Cloud Partner Programme.

As a result, SkyKick is addressing these issues with its easy-to-use Security Manager for partners to efficiently deliver and monetise cloud security in their Microsoft 365 business.

The application allows partners to more easily discover risks, vulnerabilities, and opportunities across all customers under management, providing advanced automation capabilities for partners to monitor, automate and scale their security practice.
