Cloud Technology Solutions founder leaves the business as Google partner swaps private equity backers
CTS co-founder and director James Doggart swiftly announced his departure from the business following the news
One of Google's largest dedicated European cloud partners Cloud Technology Solutions (CTS) has landed a new majority investor in Marlin Equity Partners.
Current investor NorthEdge Capital, which first invested in CTS March 2018, has reiterated its support in the company and will maintain a minority share in the business.
Marlin is a global investment firm with over $8.5bn of capital under its belt.
"CTS is well-positioned to capitalise on the significant momentum behind Google Cloud, one of the fastest-growing public cloud platforms," said CTS managing director, Chris Bunch.
"We see ever growing demand for our leading professional and managed services capabilities across the sectors and regions we serve in Europe.
"We are delighted to join Marlin, who bring a wealth of operational expertise and domain knowledge to our team, while continuing our relationship with NorthEdge. With their shared vision and support, we look forward to further strengthening CTS' position in the European market."
Arma Partners acted as exclusive financial advisor to Cloud Technology Solutions Group.
CTS founder steps away
Shortly after the news of a new investor went public, CTS founder and director James Doggart announced his departure from the business.
Doggart established the group in 2012 and served as its CEO from then until December 2021.
He then took the reins as founder and director until announcing his leave in a LinkedIn post.
"It is with great pride that I have now left my position at CTS. After founding the business with my fellow partners all those years ago, it feels strange to have reached this point, but a point I have aimed for nevertheless," Doggart said.
"There have been many memorable moments and I can honestly say it has been a blast…what a learning journey I have been lucky enough to enjoy."
CTS has been contacted in regards to Doggart's departure.
