Onecom rings up ninth acquisition under LDC

Onecom has tied down its ninth acquisition under private equity backer LDC, gobbling Midland-based IT services provider IMS Technology Services.

The deal adds more than 600 customers to Onecom's books, the Hampshire-based Vodafone, Microsoft, Google, Mitel, Samsung, Apple, Gamma and Five9 partner said.

Onecom's revenues swelled by over 80 per cent to reach £169m in calendar 2021 as previous acquisitions - including that of "closest rival" Olive - swelled its top line.

Founded in 2002, it has been backed by midmarket private equity firm LDC since 2019.

OneCom CEO Martin Flick said the acquisition builds on OneCom's mission to extend its geographic footprint and technical capabilities.

"In addition, IMS Technology has demonstrable strength in serving its customers with leading communication technology solutions and IT support services to an established customer base that is a complementary fit," he said.

"We are really excited about becoming part of the Onecom Group and the benefits it will provide to our customers and people," IMS founder Peter Arundal added.

Around half of OneCom's top line is now generated from outside its traditional mobile stomping ground, the firm revealed in its recent annual accounts.
