Reseller Bytes announces partnership with AWS to target SMB market

Bytes has just announced it will be partnering up with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to scale migration and modernisation offerings on AWS.

Bytes aims to expand its business as an AWS Solution Provider for existing and new customers and offer fully managed cloud services on AWS. These will include cloud security, storage, backup and disaster recovery, focusing on cloud cost optimisation.

AWS and Bytes say the deal is specifically targeted at the SMB market leveraging AWS's cloud native data and AI and machine learning solutions for verticals like Retail, Financial Services and Hospitality.

Managing director at Bytes, Jack Watson, said: "Our customers are looking to make their next big move on the cloud and the Bytes collaboration with AWS is helping them accelerate the move."

He added: "We have built and scaled a dedicated, fully focused Bytes team of Engineers, Architects, Fin Ops, Security, Networking and DevOps to offer end-to-end lifecycle AWS services."

Other efforts from Bytes will tackle cloud migration and modernisation, expanding business and enable customers to procure cloud professional services and third-party software, as well as developing its offering, training and certifying more than 200 sales and technical specialists on AWS.

"We are excited to work with Bytes to address the unique requirements of SMB customers in the UK&I to deploy migrations and cloud security," said Amanda Sleight, director, UKI SMB lead at AWS.

"With its proven delivery capabilities and large customer base, Bytes aims to add value to our customers by offering a one-stop-shop migration factory to accelerate customers' path to AWS cloud."

'Crest of the wave'

Bytes got off to what Bytes CEO Neil Murphy called a "really good start to the year", with a gross invoiced income vaulted 23 per cent to £786.2m. Murphy accredited the success to its customers showing a "continued appetite to invest in their IT requirements despite the macro-economic environment."

He also added, ""We are well placed to capture these growth opportunities thanks to our strong partnerships with many of the world's leading software companies and high levels of customer service," of which the latest partnership with AWS is only proof.
