XMA CRO Andy Wright departs company

XMA chief revenue officer Andrew Wright has told CRN he is leaving the company effective immediately.

He first joined the St Albans-based reseller in 2017 as its commercial director.

After more than five years in this role, Wright stepped up into the position of CRO in April 2022.

Prior to XMA he spent a total of six years at the UK's largest privately owned reseller, SCC, first as director of vendor alliances, before becoming its UK commercial director where he would stay for more than three years.

Wright told CRN that after more than 30 years in the industry, he feels now is the right time to hang up his boots.

"I don't have any definitive plans; the time is just right for me to take a change in direction. Everyone at XMA has been great about the decision and has been very supportive in helping me get to the point where effectively I can retire," he said.

"I don't intend to work full time again, but if there are any projects that would be interesting then I am open to having a conversation, and I would be happy to consider non-exec work as well. I would love to pass some of my knowledge on to anyone who might find it useful.

"I have worked in the channel for 32 years both in reselling and distribution, working for some great companies, BWCL, Elcom, ETC, SCC and of course XMA, and most importantly have worked with and competed with lots of great people over the years, many of who I regard as friends. I am going to miss everyone in the industry.

"In the short term I am going to be spending some time on moving house in the UK, and as much time as I can in Malaga enjoying the food, wine and, of course, the sunshine. Lee Hemani thinks I will get bored and want something to do. Let's see if he is right."
