Shields bids Dell farewell as she begins 'new chapter' at Computacenter

Soon-to-be former vice president for Central and North Europe channel Sarah Shields has today bid farewell to her colleagues at Dell Technologies as her last day at the company draws to an end.

She said she will begin her new chapter as group alliance director at Computacenter on Monday.

"I have had 15 glorious years at Dell, and I have enjoyed watching the company grow, change, grow some more and become the amazing company it is today," she said in a LinkedIn post.

"I've been grateful to work with some fantastic people who have let me be my authentic self, have nurtured me, enabled me to become a working mum and balance kids and a busy role, have challenged where I needed challenging and embraced new ideas and change.

"Not one day was dull! I have an incredible tribe now of folk that started as colleagues and now continue my journey with me as friends."

Shields is joining Computacenter as part of a wider revamp of its top team, with John Beard and Lieven Bergmans also being promoted to the posts of western Europe MD and CCO, respectively.

This follows the appointment in January of a new permanent UK country unit director in the form of Steve Hatherly.

"Sarah has been working her notice at Dell and an announcement came out there in early January. She's leaving on the best of terms. Computacenter is Dell's largest EMEA partner, so it's perfect," said an anonymous source told CRN in February.
