The second appointment follows the departure of Andy Gass as global chief digital officer, who has decided to retire from the business, effective January, 2024.

Stepping in to take over will be Matt Child, currently executive leader of its advanced solutions division in the UK and Ireland, who will become senior vice president, digital, Europe, and a member of the company's European executive team on December 1, 2023.

A recruitment process is underway to identify Child's successor for the UK&I advanced solutions leadership position.

During his 30-year tenure with TD SYNNEX, Gass has served in a variety of strategic and operational leadership roles at country, regional and global level.

A qualified chartered accountant, he started in 1993 as a finance executive in the company's design software division. Gass then embarked on an operational leadership career that, at various times, saw him lead the business in UK&I, Western Europe and the company's enterprise and specialist technology divisions.

Five years ago, Gass became executive leader for the company's digital transformation and commercial excellence strategy in Europe. In February 2022, he was appointed chief digital officer with global oversight of the company's digital strategy.

"I have had a challenging, rewarding and enormously enjoyable career with TD SYNNEX that has given me the opportunity to work with talented co-workers and world class business partners in a dynamic industry," said Gass.

"Throughout my tenure, our company has grown enormously both in financial terms and in the breadth of offering we have for reseller partners and vendors. In particular, it has been hugely rewarding to lead our TD SYNNEX's digital transformation on a European and global basis. We have been agile and innovative in laying the foundations of digital customer engagement that will continue to be a long-term growth engine for the business.

"I would like to thank my co-workers for all their friendship and support and my inspirational bosses who trusted me to innovate and deliver," added Gass.

Child joined TD SYNNEX in 2015, first serving as managing director of the company's UK mobile division before being appointed in 2018 to lead its UK endpoint solutions division. Since 2019, he has served as managing director of TD SYNNEX's advanced solutions business in the UK.
