Rubrik names former Securonix VP Richard Cassidy as field CISO in EMEA
Former VP global technology at Securonix to spearhead strategy in EMEA region
Zero trust data security vendor Rubrik has announced the appointment of Richard Cassidy as EMEA field CISO.
A Forbes Technology Council member, Cassidy, joins the company following two years as VP of global technology for Securonix.
Rubrik says he brings "extensive cyber leadership, threat intelligence and technical advisory experience to the role".
As Field CISO, Cassidy will focus on further developing EMEA strategy and execution and supporting customers with cyber resilience.
The vendor also said that as an advisor to many sectors, Cassidy has spent his 22-year career developing a deep understanding of all aspects of security, including SecOps, threat hunting and forensics, incident response, managed services, networking and cloud.
"Running breach and threat hunting investigations in the UK and Europe has set me up well for a CISO position, where I've been involved with organisations across industry verticals such as finance, military, central and national government and automotive," said Cassidy.
"I'm passionate about demystifying the complexities of cyber security and how this translates into building viable security ecosystems that stand the test of time."
Cassidy's appointment comes as Rubrik recently announced collaboration with Microsoft to use AI to tackle cybersecurity. The vendor also recently appointed a UK and Ireland VP, Toby Keech from Zscaler.
James Hughes, VP of solutions engineering for EMEA at Rubrik also added: "Richard joins Rubrik at a very exciting time for the company following the recent launches of our advanced user intelligence and double extortion ransomware solutions."
"Richard's experience across the channel, sales, product development and engineering will be invaluable as we continue to prioritise a zero-trust strategy and commitment to customers."
