WATCH: Women in Tech Festival 2023 Q&A with Polly Jacob, senior engagement, diversity and inclusion advisor, Softcat

Softcat's Jacob on why events like WITF are an important forum for women and underrepresented individuals to build networks of support

With the Women in Tech Festival 2023 fast approaching, CRN sat down with Polly Jacob, senior engagement, diversity and inclusion advisor at Softcat, to discuss the importance of events like WITF and some of the strides the industry has made towards equality in the past year.

Softcat is sponsoring the Women in Tech Fest this year, with the aim of driving forward the industry's progress towards inclusion.

However, Jacob notes, true equity is still a distant goal for the UK IT sector.

"We're a long way off from reaching gender parity across the channel," Jacob states in the interview.

"There's a lot of work to be done and progress to be made before we reach that point. Raising awareness of the challenges is essential. I think it feeds into that culture of allyship across the channel."
