FourNet acquires network MSP 01T to enhance connectivity

Digital transformation and customer experience provider FourNet has acquired global network MSP, 01T.

FourNet said the acquisition gives its critical infrastructure customers - including the Prime Minister's Office, ambulance services and large enterprises - end-to-end, fully resilient network connectivity.

This eliminates the need for third-party network aggregators.

01T specialises in designing, building and managing high speed global networks. It delivers connectivity and wide area network (WAN) services to organisations that rely critically on resilient networks.

Its customers include sports media and broadcast, online gaming and gambling, financial services and market analytics firms.

01T has connected businesses from London to Hong Kong.

FourNet CEO Richard Pennington said: "Integrating 01T's core networking into FourNet's cloud and ‘secure infrastructure' platforms is exciting. We are delighted to welcome the 01T team.

"Their skills, expertise and customer focus will fit very well at FourNet.

"This latest strategic acquisition builds on our growing network infrastructure offering. It allows FourNet to provide an enhanced end-to-end service for customers needing resilient, reliable global networks.

"Essentially, 01T offers the ‘underlay' connectivity to FourNet's service ‘overlay'. Importantly, it also gives FourNet more control over network implementation and support, where we currently rely on third party network aggregators."

Looking ahead, Pennington said: "We are considering further strategic acquisitions to ensure that FourNet is equipped for the future, and so that we can deliver the best service possible to our customers.

"With 01T we have added the network underlay which means less reliance on 3rd parties. We are considering strategic acquisitions which further bolster our business in the new year."

Founded in 2009, 01T grew rapidly into a managed service business. After further growth, in 2020 it switched focus to international network connectivity, now its main revenue source.

Headquartered in Brighton, 01T works with data-centric customers needing to move large amounts of data globally. Their revenue depends directly on connectivity uptime.

01T MD Alex Lower said: "There's great synergy between our companies, so joining forces feels very natural. We have been on a similar journey to FourNet, which is why this is the right time to become one company."

FourNet has over 200 employees, with offices in Manchester, London and Derby.

01T is its fourth acquisition in three years - earlier this year it acquired cybersecurity, network infrastructure and collaboration partner Nowcomm.
