Bluecube acquisition deal set to Ekco in UK cyber space

Dublin-headquartered IT provider Ekco has acquired UK cybersecurity firm Bluecube for an undisclosed amount, more than doubling Ekco's UK presence.

This is Ekco's largest purchase to date and fourth acquisition in the past 12 months.

Strategically, Bluecube augments Ekco's service portfolio for UK clients with security offerings and improved critical recovery abilities, strengthening Ekco's incident response capacities amid rising threats.

The worldwide managed services space is forecast to soon be worth $1tr as demand for trusted IT partners grows.

This acquisition aligns with Ekco's global expansion strategy fuelled by organic growth and European acquisitions, plus new US offices.

Obtaining Bluecube's customer base and over 200 cybersecurity specialists boosts Ekco's ability to serve UK organisations relying heavily on managed IT services.

Both companies welcomed the deal as a strong operational and cultural align.

For Bluecube, it enables meeting diverse, evolving customer IT needs.

Ekco said it sees it as furthering the company vision of providing responsive IT security solutions to a rapidly expanding customer base.

Ekco has charted rapid European expansion recently, including acquiring Irish IT services provider Radius and two UK managed service companies over the past year.

This trajectory is likely to continue following substantial investment from London private equity firm Corten Capital earlier this year.

With Bluecube in the fold and Corten's backing supporting future strategic acquisitions, Ekco aims to solidify itself as a top player in managed IT services across the UK and Europe.
