The channel firms named in the UK's best places to work 2024 list

Several channel companies have made the list of Glassdoor's top places to work in the UK in 2024, including Cisco, SAP, Dell and Softcat.

With the continued cost of living crisis and a softening labour market in the UK, many employers are reevaluating their compensation, company culture and stance on flexible and hybrid work to attract and retain talent.

The Glassdoor Best Places to Work 2024 ranking reveals where employees love their jobs, based entirely on the reviews of staff.

The 50 companies recognised have surpassed worker expectations and beaten hundreds of thousands of other employers to claim their place.

All ratings are determined based on reviews from the annual eligibility period.

SAP led the way for the channel in eighth place, closely followed by Cisco in 11th and further down Softcat in 23rd.

VMware and Dell closed in 35th and 36th place, while Capgemini Invent, the digital innovation, consulting and transformation brand of the Capgemini Group, took the 44th spot.

Cisco reacts

Jared Hindle, UK and Ireland people and communities country consultant at Cisco told CRN on the announcement: "We are thrilled to be included in Glassdoor's list of Best Places to Work in the UK 2024.

"We always have a sense of pride when we top a list for being a great workplace, such as most recently taking No1 position on the most recent 2023 UK Great Place to Work awards."

Hindle explains that Cisco focuses on actively listening across the business to take employee views and put them into action.

"An example of this in the last year was the introduction of a new menopause plan into our healthcare programme, which was a direct result of employee feedback. Learning and acting upon employee experiences and sentiment is fundamental to our commitment to delivering a conscious culture and is fully supported by our UK country leadership board.

"By prioritising empathy and curiosity, we can create a heightened degree of awareness about ourselves and each other."

He adds that, as Cisco looks ahead to 2024 another big focus in the UK will be continuing to deliver on its diversity, equity and inclusion strategy.

"A part of this will be centred on our Inclusive Communities, which focus on empowering employees to network, learn, and create positive change, to support our culture of transparency and enable us to understand and act on insights from a broader and comprehensive range of perspectives."
