North creates new MD role to bolster public sector support
Andrew Foster has been named to take the helm in a brand new role
Integrated technology solutions provider, North, has appointed Andrew Foster as its new managing director for public services.
This is a brand new role North has created to support its transition to a sector-based organisational structure, the company tells CRN.
"Strengthening its already robust presence in the public sector, the appointment of Foster will enhance the business' capacity to address the unique needs and challenges of customers and support them to embrace new innovative approaches that enable them to work smarter, safer and more sustainably," North writes to CRN.
With an extensive background in local authorities, professional bodies, and the private sector, North claimsFoster will bring a wealth of experience to his new position.
Prior to joining North, Foster served as the regional managing director for Capita's local public services business, where he was responsible for managing key clients and spearheading new business development.
Before his time at Capita, Foster spent two decades working in local government.
He later became COO at the Chartered Trading Standard Institute, where he led the commercial arm of the institute.
In his new position, he will lead North's public services division and supporting public sector customers to adopt new approaches to navigate the complexities of the challenges faced by the public sector, which is presently under unprecedented pressure.
"The public sector is currently under immense pressure to reduce costs whilst simultaneously maintaining the provision of services to their communities as well as finding ways to benefit from the deployment of new technologies and consequently needs partners to help navigate these challenges and adapt to the evolving landscape," said Foster.
David Crawford, North's recently appointed CEO, commented: "Foster has extensive experience and a deep understanding of the public sector, we are thrilled to welcome him to North.
"His appointment reflects our commitment to supporting our customers to embrace new innovative approaches that help to transform how they work by enabling them to work smarter, safer and more sustainably."
