Ingram signs with Promethean as it targets edtech growth
Distributor affirms ambitions rooted in "enduring relationships" with public sector
Global education technology vendor Promethean has inked a UK distribution deal with Ingram Micro.
The tie-up aims to fortify Promethean's foothold in the IFPD market and strategically position Ingram Micro as a key player in the educational technology sector.
Raj Pandya, director of specialty solutions at Ingram tells CRN about the alignment of goals, emphasising how this partnership seamlessly fits into Ingram Micro's overarching strategy for 2024.
"The establishment of this new relationship with Promethean is in line with Ingram Micro's overarching strategy in the UK for 2024," Pandya states.
"Our focus on fostering strong relationships with industry leaders, such as Promethean, aligns seamlessly with our commitment to delivering innovative solutions and unparalleled value to our customers.
"We are excited to offer our reseller customers an exciting new range of products supported by our expansive and bespoke services and finance offering."
Ingram will be working alongside Midwich in a dual distribution model for Promethean solutions.
The distribution arrangement is exclusive to the UK, as Exertis continues to be Promethean's exclusive distributor in Ireland and Northern Ireland.
Simon Port, Head of UKI and ANZ Markets at Promethean, shed light on the broader implications of this partnership.
"Promethean's product offering has expanded over the past 12 months. With the launch of ActivPanel LX, we're moving into wider markets and appealing to a diverse budget range," he tells CRN.
"We've been the UK market leader for IFPDs in education for the past five years.
"100 per cent of our panel sales go through the channel, so as we head into 2024, the focus remains on strengthening this position, working in partnership with our valued channel partners."
As part of the agreement, Ingram Micro will stock the full range of Promethean products, with shipping slated to commence from February 2024.
Ingram stakes claim on education, public sector
According to Pandya, the signing is part of the distie's broader strategy targeting long-term partnerships across public sector technology.
"Ingram Micro's ambitions for the UK education and public sector are rooted in the cultivation of enduring relationships that empower institutions with cutting-edge technology," Pandya continued.
"By collaborating with Promethean, we aim to elevate the educational and public sector landscape through tailored solutions, ensuring that our offerings align with the evolving needs of these critical sectors.
"Through this relationship, we envision a future where educational and public sector entities leverage technology seamlessly, with reduced barriers to entry, enabling them to achieve their goals efficiently and effectively."
