Logpoint hires new head of product development as it aims at the UK and EU security market
Sean Muirhead, with experience at Trend Micro, Solera, Sophos and others, joins the vendor
If you want to manage the product development of a manufacturer in an industry that is currently as dynamic as cybersecurity, you need a lot of experience from many previous jobs at other IT security manufacturers.
Sean Muirhead, the new chief product officer (CPO) at Logpoint, has this to offer.
In his more than 25 years in the industry, he has worked at Trend Micro, Solera Networks, Sophos, Blue Coat, RSA, Synamtec, McAfee, among others.
In the role, Muirhead will lead Logpoint's product strategy and also look at potential acquisitions so that customers and partners "master the challenges of cybersecurity now and in the future," according to the Copenhagen-based vendor.
"Sean's combined understanding of cyber risks, the threat landscape, and market trends is essential to strengthen Logpoint's position and execute its strategy to become a European cybersecurity powerhouse," commented CTO Christian Have.
Muirhead sees "a lot of excellent intellectual property and skilled people with the potential to solve real future customer problems" at Logpoint.
Additionally, the threat landscape is also evolving, as malicious actors arm themselves with AI.
The big advantage of Logpoint compared to 'third country' HQ competitors, is its Denmark base. This vendor leverages its status as 'the only SIEM provider in Europe' - or more precisely, within the EU27 that is committed to common IT security guidelines - as a key selling point.
Muirhead plans to further threat detection and automation solutions at Logpoint.
His hire comes on the heels of Logpoint implementing changes to its SIEM platform to specifically target growth with small and medium MSPs in the UK and EU.
