SonicWall launches tailor-made MDR solution for MSP partners
SonicWall extends managed detection and response (MDR) solution with 24/7 security operations centre (SOC) to help partner growth with suite of managed solutions
SonicWall is creating a co-managed security service for MSPs by adding endpoint vendors to its MDR solution.
The vendor is creating a cybersecurity platform that allows for tighter integration across its portfolio, as well as with third-party vendors and partners.
"Today's MSPs increasingly need a platform of managed security solutions rather than point solutions," SVP of managed services at SonicWall Michael Crean told CRN.
"These services will empower MSPs to bring preventative and proactive security to their clients, without the need to establish their own security operations centre.
"The experts in the SonicWall SOC recognise patterns of behaviour to understand when an alert from a security tool is indicative of a larger attack, meaning that MSPs are able to provide even their smallest client with advanced threat knowledge."
He added that the services are also intended help MSPs grow their monthly recurring revenue on a flexible basis, by offering no minimums and no annual contracts.
"We're committed to ensuring our MSP partners can be successful and enabling them to offer cutting edge cybersecurity to their clients as we continue to develop our cybersecurity platform.
"We recently acquired Banyan Security and look forward to bringing security service edge (SSE) and zero-trust network access (ZTNA) solutions to our partners to help them secure their cloud environments."
Spencer Starkey, VP of EMEA business at SonicWall also told CRN partners will be provided training via SonicWall's current platform, encompassing sales techniques and essential knowledge to effectively assist customers with the new managed security services.
"Additionally, we'll conduct regional training sessions tailored for partners across EMEA, featuring open Q&A sessions," he said.
SonicWall's MDR service will be designed to allow organisations the flexibility to choose a tool that's right for their business by pairing with several next-generation anti-virus (NGAVs).
All NGAV users will be able to receive the same 24/7 monitoring, threat hunting, and anomaly detection from SonicWall's dedicated SOC team.
Currently, the service supports several NGAVs, including Capture Client, SonicWall's EDR solution, Windows Defender, SentinelOne and Cylance.
