Crayon hopes new learning and engagement partner is a 'hoot' for educational experience

Norwegian reseller Crayon has announced a partnership with Kahoot!, adding learning and engagement platform's tools to its portfolio.

This comes at a time when three in four teachers are said to believe technology has played a key role in making learning more student-centred following lower levels of engagement and motivation post-pandemic.

Crayon hopes the partnership will mark a significant step in the company's commitment to enhancing educational experiences through technology.

Kahoot! was launched in 2013 and since then, the company has grown from a popular quiz tool to a global platform for learning and engagement, now with more than 10 billion (non-unique) participants.

Michael Jacobs, EVP of Nordics region at Crayon told CRN: "Jobs of today and tomorrow will need tools like Kahoot! because it's a more modern way of working and learning. While the IT industry is always rapidly evolving, businesses need an engaging way to learn in order to keep up with the changes.

"We have found that in the education sector, many universities largely have the same technology needs, but those needs are often unmet.

"When it comes to a company like Crayon, which is in 46 countries, we can make it more efficient for them to acquire their software and technology anywhere in the world."

He said managed services continues to be a growth area for Crayon and there is an ongoing interest from its customers in areas like FinOps solutions, licensing terms, compliance, security, and AI services.

"We will continue our efforts in building out these services for educational, public, and corporate segments."

Chances in the market

Quoting its recent financial results, Jacobs said: "If we look at our Q4 results, it's clearly software, as customers are continuing on their digitalisation journey and are in need of software and tools to increase their productivity and operations.

"We see a need to reduce costs in the current economic environment so our software asset management and software and cloud advisory services are in high demand."

He added that security is also an area that is top-of-mind for customers and they're looking for support and guidance. In addition, he is seeing a huge interest in tools like Microsoft 365 Copilot and other AI solutions to leverage new technology and innovate in new areas.

"Crayon's partnership with Kahoot! will allow an innovative and flexible learning platform for employees to gain new learning experiences in the modern workplace.

"We want to help increase knowledge around new technologies because in the Kahoot! platform you can have e-learning modules, for example on Microsoft Copilot.

"This ensures employees actually use the technology otherwise the tool just becomes a cost because it's not utilised and at Crayon we're focused on leveraging customers' technology investments in the best way."
