Performanta has integrated Microsoft's Copilot for Security to introduce Safe XDR, calling it the world's first AI-verified extended detection and response (XDR) service.

By integrating with Performanta's Safe XDR platform, Microsoft Copilot for Security dramatically reduces incident response times, providing businesses with enhanced cybersecurity capabilities.

Unveiling the new offering at its first Cyber Safety Summit yesterday at The Oval, London, Performanta co-founder and CEO Guy Golan told the audience the launch of Safe XDR has been six years in the making.

Golan precedes the announcement with some hard facts about the current challenges in cyber.

The cyber industry is facing a momentous skills gap, with more than 3.5 million vacancies globally.

"Many of you say you need ‘hands on people', people who know how to get things done," Golan says.

"It is a fact that IT is just much harder to defend.

"There are so many more tools and everyday there are new processes in place.

"So whether you don't have enough resources, or you've got problems with hybrid cloud, and on-premise, all the issues around that complexity that is in place, legacy environments that you've got within your environment in place, your tech stack is increasing.

"And business context is somewhere missing in the whole discussion."

"What do clients want?," Golan asks the audience.

"They want transparency, frictionless service, and transparent pricing.

"What if we tell you that something is about to happen, as opposed to already happening. We show you how prepared you are, then tell you what needs to be done if you're not prepared. We offer to fix it for you in case you don't want to do it yourself."

Golan says that to be cyber safe is the combination of three pillars - maximum coverage, reaction, and proactive time per incident.

He adds that the industry average response time to an attack is one hour and 30 minutes.

"The reality is you're aware but not really secure.

"This is how we believe XDR should be. What if we can look at the coverage and get all of that in place. But alongside real time integration with some form of an attack service management that feeds into what we call a ‘safe platform' that is getting me enough information to understand what I should be doing and recommend to me what I need to do?"

Introducing the ROC - a risk operations centre.

"The ROC will be the proactive part of this, not just the reactive," Golan says.

"The SOC is by default reactive. It's tactical, it's about something that has already happened. The ROC is strategic and has the ability to be proactive.

"It is a combination of information that is derived out of data that we collect in an organisation presented in a way that the business can understand."

Armed with the ROC and the integration of Microsoft Copilot with its Safe XDR platform, Golan tells the audience Performanta is able to dramatically trim the one hour and 30 minute incident response time.

"We believe we're going to cut one hour and 15 minutes to 25 minutes maximum time to respond.

"So I hope you realise that one hour and 15 minutes average to a maximum of 25 minutes is a huge undertaking from a service provider in the market."
