Two for the price of one: TD SYNNEX buys Prolink to grow security skills in Turkey
The addition of the VAD allows the distie powerhouse to beef up its cybersecurity capabilities and grow its footprint in Turkey
TD SYNNEX has acquired Turkish value-added distributor Prolink to bolster both its cybersecurity offering and footprint in Turkey.
Prolink is an independent distributor specialising in networking and security solutions for the Turkish market.
Founded in 1997, the company currently operates with a workforce of 60 employees across offices in Istanbul and Ankara supporting a network of more than 300 reseller partners.
George Troughton, communications manager for Europe at TD SYNNEX tells CRN the distribution giant was drawn to Prolink for two reasons.
"Strengthening market position in Turkey and also reinforcing thanks to Prolink's strength in cybersecurity and networking brands and solutions expertise.
"Their vendor portfolio is highly complementary to ours."
The NYSE-listed distributor posted a 0.8 per cent revenue increase in its fiscal second quarter ended May 31, 2024 to earn $13.9bn.
Revenues in Europe however dipped 0.8 per cent to $4.4bn.

The completion of the acquisition is contingent upon customary closing conditions, including receipt of required approval from Turkish regulatory authorities. Pending this approval, both companies will continue to operate independently.
