Sustainability in Tech Awards 2025 are launching TODAY!
CRN is also delighted to announced that the Sustainability in Tech Summit will be back for 2025
After a successful launch year in 2024, the Sustainability in Tech (SiT) 2025 Awards are launching today with some new and revised categories, and CRN is also unveiling that the Sustainability in Tech Summit will be back for 2025.
Collectively the carbon footprint of gadgets, the internet and the systems supporting it account for global greenhouse gas emissions on a similar level to that produced by the airline industry. We all need to play our part to help the UK government hit its 100 per cent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions target by 2050.
Following feedback, the Awards categories have been extended from 12 to 18 to give all sectors of the channel - resellers, vendors, distributors and channel service providers - a chance to showcase all the great carbon reduction initiatives they are doing both within their own organisations, or in partnership with partners and customers.
To check out the categories and read the new revised criteria, please visit the official site here. There is one category - The Sustainability Evangalism Award - which is an editorial decision, and will be announced on the day itself.
Similar to the 2024 event, the awards will be presented after the popular Sustainability in Tech Summit on Thursday 13 February, rounding off a whole day of networking, sharing best practice and listening to advice from experts and peers on how to effectively drive a net zero strategy and collaborate for maximum impact.
The whole day will be held at the BAFTA building in central London, a venue that proved very popular with attendees in 2024.
For those entering the awards, the key dates to know are the deadline day, which is Friday 1 November.
As with all CRN awards, the entries will then be shortlisted, and then the winners will be selected by a panel of independent, expert judges who will be reading every word and watching every video.
Please do stick to the word count for the entries - 800 words or a five-minute video. The timeframe for projects covered by the awards is September 2023 to August 2024, which means any project/initiative entered must have been launched, modified or relevant within that time period.
The very best of luck to all, and we are looking forward to reading about and seeing all the wonderful initiatives being spearheaded by the UK channel!
