We're first with the news on the web
Sara Driscoll introduces the all improved CRN web site
Patience is unfortunately not one of my virtues. As I wrote in this column back in 2004, I get annoyed with people who still have paper tube tickets, not Oyster cards; it takes at least a whole extra second for a them to get through the barrier.
But while speed is of paramount importance, quality is still crucial. There is no point in having a smarter, quicker Oyster card, for example, if half the time it doesn’t do what it is supposed to do.
After making CRN’s web site 60 per cent faster, we have now raised the bar for quality online news. A fresh new domain name, www.channelweb.co.uk, will offer all the very latest in channel news, views, comments, blogs and analysis from CRN. The crn.co.uk domain will continue to exist, allowing you to subscribe and get further information on the magazine, and providing a link through to our channelweb home page.
We have been the first news web site in the UK to break all of the top channel news this year: Tesco selling voice over IP, Cable & Wireless dropping its channel, the result in the landmark Bond House case, Horizon buying equIP, the government being fined by Europe over the waste directive, and the Westcon and Comstor merger, to name but a few.
Never before has quality, channel-relevant news been delivered online so quickly. And as we strive for speed, this is complemented by deeper news analysis, with insights and comments from the industry in the magazine every week.
On top of that, on www.channelweb.co.uk you will be given the chance to comment in our online forums, chat to peers, watch web seminars and join in discussion threads.
Page views are up by an incredible 350 per cent so far this year on last year. Are your competitors getting the news before you? Bookmark CRN’s site now to make sure you are fully up to speed with all the most important and relevant news for your business.
