Conference success for CRN in 2009

We are all feeling very proud here at CRN after our Channel Conference 2009.

Yirrell: Would like to thank all attendees - and especially, all speakers

The day at Whittlebury Hall in Northamptonshire went more smoothly than we dared hope and every speaker gave a fascinating and interesting insight into his or her particular specialist topic.

I would like to thank all our speakers for supporting CRN and for helping make our conference such a success.

In particular, I would like to thank Sir Peter Rigby, who enthralled the audience in a Q&A session with our chairman for the day, Ian French.

To have turned a £2,000 investment into a £2.5bn company is a fantastic achievement, and he clearly demonstrated to the audience the reason for his success with his forward thinking and entrepreneurship.

Speaking with delegates later, many told me he gave them food for thought about their own businesses and some great tips for the future.

We also had a keynote with Douglas McWilliams, the chief executive of CEBR and well-known economist, who gave an interesting insight into how the economy will pan out, particularly with a change of government on the horizon.

Watch out for event coverage in next week’s CRN and on ChannelWeb.
