A new era for CRN print

New format CRN magazine out today

A revamped CRN magazine hit the streets today.

There have been countless meetings and discussions before the version many of you will be reading was allowed to see the light of day.

For many years CRN has been a weekly newspaper, and before the digital era dawned, we regularly broke the biggest industry stories in print.

But times have changed and it is now impossible to break news in this way.

Our popular website Channelweb.co.uk will continue to be the place to catch up with all the latest breaking news and will be updated as and when something happens, while the CRN daily newsletter will ensure everybody is kept up to date with events.

But the magazine itself has a new focus as we strive to become a tool that will deliver real business benefits.

CRN’s print edition will now delve deeper into industry issues, focus on high-profile interviews and case studies, and provide a more analytical approach through editorial and third-party comments/observations.

There will also be some of CRN’s personality injected into each issue, reflecting the strong character of the IT channel and the editorial team.

We have launched a community page to feature comments being made via Twitter and the web to allow you to get your thoughts across. So please comment as much as you can. We really do want your feedback.

This means a change in the way we approach pictures as well, so I’m appealing to everyone to rethink the way they send us executive pictures - the old headshot format is very tired and frankly boring - we need some out-of-the-box thinking from now on.

We are very proud of the new CRN and I hope you enjoy reading it.

I would love to know what you think. Please drop me a line via email or Twitter (@Yirrelli)
