Richard Dendle
Managing director, Britannic Technologies
Career so far I was in the armed forces, followed by three years in Saudi Arabia, then onto Britannic which is now in its 25th year!
Do you care about green IT? Yes. Not only is green IT good for the environment but it also helps to deliver greater efficiencies and cost savings for our customers.
If you could be in a rock/pop band, which one would it be and who would you be? It's got to be the Beatles, and I'd have to be Paul. Their music is still current and probably always will be.
What is the best corporate jolly you have ever been on/taken partners on? I am fortunate to have been on many trips (thank you suppliers) over my time at Britannic. I particularly love the skiing at Cortina /Val D'Isere and more recently a sunny trip to Las Vegas.
Has 2009 been as bad as everyone said it would be? Not for Britannic, which has had a clear direction and a complete focus on providing value for money and custom designed solutions. We have also developed a range of new value added services. This has all contributed to us being ahead of budget for the first six months.
Have any of your predictions come true this year? Yes, growth within Britannic, the delivery of new services in line with timeframes. I also predicted a win at the CRN awards - fingers crossed!
What do you see as the channel's biggest challenge in 2010? The pace of change, ensuring you have the depth and breath of skills and offerings required to deliver tangible business value and an excellence of service, supporting the requirement of supply chain consolidation and professional service management - as well as cash flow for some.
What is the best part of your day? The start of each day. I am always excited about the many opportunities that lie ahead.
