Darren Lewitt

AV director, Midwich

Career so far Pretty simple really, I've had just two jobs in 25 years. In 1984, I joined the RAF in Avionics. In 1991, I left for a new challenge and joined Midwich in sales before advancing to product management, then business management and finally to the board of directors.

Do you care about green IT? Of course, it is always on my mind.

If you could be in a rock/pop band, which one would it be and who would you be? Either Jeff Lynn of the Electric Light Orchestra or Kylie Minogue's microphone.

What is the best corporate jolly you have ever been on/taken partners on? Brother used to do it in style: New York on Concorde, Canada to the Montreal grand prix, Quebec, Toronto, Niagara Falls, CN Tower, baseball and the wilderness… Amazing, and all business related of course…

Has 2009 been as bad as everyone said it would be? No, we have worked very hard to outperform our competitors and target new channels with emerging technologies. In return, we will have our best year ever.

Have any of your predictions come true this year? We predicted that Toshiba would pull out of projectors and that vendors would begin to move away from broadline distribution.

What do you see as the channel's biggest challenge in 2010? Profitable channel growth and stability as the UK comes out of recession.

What is the best part of your day? Eating my organic Weetabix and thinking about the day ahead.
