Piers Carey

Career so far: I started work in the channel as an internal sales person in 1994. Since then I have held various sales positions, culminating in my current role as chief executive of Teneo since 2003.

If you could be anyone else for a week, who would you be and what would you do? Superman, but instead of chatting up Lois Lane I would head to the DRC and try to do some good.

What would you have as your last meal? Foie gras, kobe beef and cheese, but the pièce de résistance would definitely be the wine.

What is the best corporate jolly you have ever been on/taken partners on? Without a doubt, our company trip to Kenya in 2010. Although partners weren't able to go, it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Do you see the cloud as a threat or an opportunity? All change has some opportunity, and cloud is no different. The trick is identifying it.

Have any of your predictions come true this year? Teneo would grow by at least 25 per cent - we achieved 42 per cent!

What do you see as the channel's biggest challenge in 2011? Probably surviving in a weak economy. Although out of recession, the recovery has not been strong enough for the channel to continue without having to evolve.

What is the best part of your day? Going home to my family.
