Career so far My career in IT started at a small Unix Reseller in the North West as a very junior field service engineer. We were swallowed up by one of the industry giants, most of my colleagues left and I was left to fill the breach. After growing up very quickly, I entered management at the tender age of 21 and have enjoyed creating great teams ever since. I decided to start my own business in 2008 to bring innovation and energy to stagnating businesses and channel relationships.

If you could be anyone else for a week, who would you be and what would you do? I’m happy being me, but I’d happily spend the week being teleported to seven places on my ‘must visit’ list with my family.
What would you have as your last meal? A great steak and a nice bottle of red wine.

What is the best corporate jolly you have ever been on/taken partners on? A trip to South Africa, Botswana and Zambia with IBM – the location was simply stunning.
Do you see the cloud as a threat or an opportunity? Both. A threat for those that fail to track and react, and an opportunity for those that do.

Have any of your predictions come true this year? That there are still plenty of ways for Demuto and our clients to add value.

What do you see as the channel’s biggest challenge in 2011? Finding margin opportunities in a fast-commoditising industry. Cloud has the potential to speed up this decline.

What is the best part of your day? Early morning – you see the countryside at its best and get plenty of thinking done before the phone starts ringing.
