Ann Keefe
Career so far: Newbury Data, Compaq, AST, Datrontech and Kingston Technology.
If you could be anyone else for a week, who would you be and what would you do? Sir Ranulph Fiennes - I saw him speak at an event recently and he was fascinating and inspirational. I would run seven marathons in seven days in seven continents, just as he did in 2003 - four months after his double heart bypass operation. I did my first marathon in London this year and I bet all his times were much faster than mine.
What would you have as your last meal? Death by chocolate.
What is the best corporate jolly you have ever been on/taken partners on? The Kingston Technology customer trip to our HQ in California. But of course it isn't a corporate jolly, it is a very serious business trip.
Do you see the cloud as a threat or an opportunity? It depends if I have my umbrella with me or not. Seriously, though, it's already here and it is the way forward for business and the consumer, so we have to make it into an opportunity. The servers that run and look after the cloud require lots of memory to ensure it runs efficiently for its users.
Have any of your predictions come true this year? I did predict David Cameron would be our new prime minister, but I didn't predict he'd be doing a job share.
What do you see as the channel's biggest challenge in 2011? In this new age of austerity, with customers experiencing further budget cuts, the channel needs to adapt in order to see continued growth and profitability. At Kingston Technology, we offer great upgrade products to enable our customers to extend the lifespan of their assets while improving performance. We see this as a perfect opportunity for our channel partners in 2011.
What is the best part of your day? Wine o'clock.
