Julian Fielden
Career so far I was a chartered accountant in practice until 1991. I was then finance director of a number of engineering companies until 1997 before moving into IT. I bought OCF in 2002 with the then-management team.
If you could be anyone else for a week, who would you be and what would you do? Carlos Tevez. I would do nothing and get paid £250,000 a week for it.
Cloud - friend or foe? Agnostic. It will succeed where it is appropriate, but organisations will be very wary of moving critical applications to the cloud.
Has 2011 been as bad as everyone said it would be? I make a point of not listening to the pessimists. Yes, markets have been difficult, but there has still been demand. Our primary high-performance computing market is not a slave to the general economy.
What would you have as your last meal? Fish pie and peas.
Who would you like to be stuck in a lift with? Nobody for very long.
Have any of your predictions come true this year? It's quite tough out there, which everyone predicted.
What do you see as the channel's biggest challenge in 2012? For many it will be getting their head around the cloud thing. For everyone, continuing to improve vendor relationships will be key.
What is the best part of your day? All of it.
