Career so far I spent 25 years at HP in a variety of UK and European leadership positions, and also held management roles at Cisco and Kyocera.

If you could be anyone else for a week, who would you be? Rory McIlroy during the Ryder Cup, as I am a huge golf fan!

What will next year’s most overhyped industry buzzword be? Cloud.

Has 2012 been a good, bad or ugly year? It has been a very good year. I joined a great company and am learning so much from its culture.

What would you have as your last meal? A curry – chicken dhansak.

What keeps you awake at night? I have never been a great sleeper. My mind is just too active.

What piece of technology could you not be without? My TV. I simply love watching sport.

Have any of your predictions come true this year? My son getting a First-class Honours at Cambridge in his Masters Degree.

What is the best partner/customer trip you have ever been on? Taking 50 partner execs to Cape Town and transporting them all by Harley Davidson to Table Mountain.

What do you see as the channel’s biggest challenge in 2013? Sustained profitability.
