Managing director, Lanway

Career so far I joined Lanway in 1997 in the returns department and worked my way up, eventually becoming commercial director and finally managing director. I know the business inside out, having cut my teeth and matured into a business leader here.

What will next year’s most overhyped industry buzzword be? Disruptive technology. Say it in English please!

Has 2012 been a good, bad or ugly year? Good. Lanway has gone from strength to strength, and I’m sure we all agree that the Olympics were absolutely brilliant.

What would you have as your last meal? A big juicy steak, washed down with a Lagavulin on the rocks.

What keeps you awake at night? Not a lot; I’m a very sound sleeper.

What piece of technology could you not be without? My iPad – we’ve grown very close over the past few years.

Have any of your predictions come true this year? I predicted Lanway would come out stronger on the other side, and I was right.

What is the best partner/customer trip you have ever been on? I had a great time at the 2012 Microsoft WPC in Toronto – it’s a fantastic city.

What do you see as the channel’s biggest challenge in 2013? Continuing to fight through this terrible economic climate. We’re doing well as a sector though, and I know at Lanway we’ll carry on growing and improving.
