Career so far I was a chartered accountant with Deloitte & Touche. I worked in corporate finance for 16 years before joining Midwich as finance director in 2004 and became managing director in 2010.

If you could be anyone else for a week, who would you be? No-one, I like being me.

What will next year's most overhyped industry buzzword be? I'm a pretty down-to-earth Yorkshireman. I don't tend to do buzzwords.

Has 2012 been a good, bad or ugly year? Good - we have seen some growth and expanded into some new complementary areas.

What would you have as your last meal? Foie gras followed by grouse stuffed with sour dough bruschetta.

What keeps you awake at night? See above. Work rarely keeps me awake.

What piece of technology could you not be without? My BlackBerry.

Have any of your predictions come true this year? Yes. I thought I might make it into the CRN A list.

What is the best partner/customer trip you have ever been on? The opening ceremony to 2012 Olympics with Samsung. Seeing our historical achievements set out on the stage made me feel proud to be British. We could do with more reminders of what we are capable of as a nation.

What do you see as the channel's biggest challenge in 2013? Keeping the energy and excitement going in an economy that is still lacklustre.
