Terry Betts
Managing director, CCS Media
Career so far
I have held positions as executive director at ISA International, service manager at Dixons Stores, and buyer/sales manager at House of Fraser.
What was your first job and were you any good at it?
I was a Saturday sales assistant. I was going to be a maths teacher but enjoyed it (and realised I was good at selling) so went into sales instead.
Who was your top teenage pin-up?
Debbie Harry. My colleagues won’t know this about me but… My great uncle was President Lebrun of France.
What is your favourite snack?
Fruit.
What has been your career high point to date?
Joining CCS Media.
Has 2013 been good, bad or ugly?
It has been a good year. Sales are up by 25 per cent and the company could do above £100m this year.
What do you say when asked at a party what you do for a living?
I work in IT. If I wasn’t working in the channel I would probably be… a lawyer or teacher.
What will be the channel’s biggest challenge in 2014? The cloud and the changes it will bring.
