Terry Betts
Managing director, CCS Media
What was the worst job you have ever had?
Manager for a large retailer (I don't wish to name them as I am now a customer).
Which actor would you pick to play you in a movie of your life?
Steve McQueen. His motto was "I live for myself and answer to no one." I've never been one to keep quiet.
What do you do as your party trick? That's on a need-to-know basis.
What is your favourite chocolate bar?
KitKat - the old ones are the best.
What has been the highlight of your career to date?
Joining CCS Media as it allowed to me put all my experience to good use.
Has 2014 been a good, bad or ugly year?
A very good year. The channel continues to be buoyant and our place continues to strengthen with vendors and customers. I'm very excited for the future.
How would you explain the IT channel to a stranger without boring them to death?
It's an eco-system ultimately. Lots of moving parts; don't try to control them.
Aside from the channel, my dream career would be… a barrister. The devil is in the detail. I've always been one for detail and putting the winning case forward.
What major issues will the channel face in 2015?
Maintaining our identity and focus while the dynamics of the channel changes through emerging new technologies and end user customer behaviour.
