Andrew King
Managing director, Grey Matter (Grey Matter, Sigma Software Distribution)
What was the worst job you have ever had?
A Saturday job slicing meat at Littlewoods.
Which actor would you pick to play you in a movie of your life?
Colin Firth. Like me he's understated.
What do you do as your party trick?
Make people laugh by "dancing".
What is your favourite chocolate bar?
Cadburys Caramel, with a mug of tea.
What has been the highlight of your career to date?
Having Grey Matter and Sigma recognised as the channel partner of choice when software vendors have tough problems to solve.
Has 2014 been a good, bad or ugly year?
Good year - turnover up, profit percentage up by more than turnover, continued to invest in training and growing our staff numbers.
How would you explain the IT channel to a stranger without boring them to death?
Software is no different to any other tool; the software channel is no different to any other channel - it just moves a lot faster.
Aside from the channel, my dream career would be... a classic car restorer and dealer - although it would probably not be a profitable business as I'd want to keep all the cars.
What major issues will the channel face in 2015? Continuing to add real value for customers and partners.
