Dan May

Commercial director, Ramsac

What was the worst job you have ever had? As a trainee manager with a retail organisation I did a week's work experience in the company's factory, working on the production lines, which I found mind-numbingly boring.

Which actor would you pick to play you in a movie of your life? I was once told that all bald men look the same, so take your pick: Bruce Willis, Jason Staham, Billy Zane, Patrick Stewart...

What is your favourite chocolate bar? Any good-quality, milk chocolate from Ecuador.

What has been the highlight of your career to date? I made a few live appearances on the BBC Breakfast sofa; I still have friends that call me TV's Dan May as a result.

Has 2014 been a good, bad or ugly year? It has been good; the business has grown, we've upgraded our offices, retained all our key players, had some good holidays and the kids have increased in comedic value.

Aside from the channel, my dream career would be... I would love to own a boutique hotel somewhere hot and sunny, doing the whole Good Life thing with a few animals and a veg plot.

What major issues will the channel face in 2015? As more services, products and vendors converge and technology continues to become more virtual, it will be a continued challenge to ensure that people are still valued by clients, that service can continue to be a key differentiator while profit margins are squeezed, and that the industry can recruit, train, develop and retain the best talent.
