Pete Rawden

Senior director, Partners & Pathways, Northern EMEA, NetApp UK

What was the worst job you have ever had?

Mucking out horse stables.

Which actor would you pick to play you in a movie of your life?

James Gandolfini. I'm a big Sopranos fan.

What is your favourite chocolate bar?

Mars. It helps you work, rest and play.

What has been the highlight of your career to date?

NetApp winning CRN IT Vendor of Year was pretty cool. I've also been fortunate to work with many different people and partners over the last 14 years at NetApp which has provided some fantastic high points and memories.

How would you explain the IT channel to a stranger without boring them to death?

If the IT channel was a movie it would be The Social Network meets Saving Private Ryan, with a touch of Wolf of Wall Street.

Aside from the channel, my dream career would be... manager of Liverpool Football Club.

What major issues will the channel face in 2015?

A general election may have an impact on our overall economic landscape; I hope there is a clear result that avoids confusion and uncertainty. The cloud will continue to present opportunities and challenges for partners as customers transform the way they acquire IT and look to the channel for advice and services to make the most out of it.
