Neil Muller

UK managing director, Computacenter

What was the worst job you have ever had? A part-time refrigeration merchandiser in Cherokee, North Carolina - I stacked cold shelves for three weeks in order to purchase a Greyhound ticket to travel to New Orleans.

Which actor would you pick to play you in a movie of your life? Brad Pitt - I admire his versatility, but would also welcome my looks being significantly enhanced overnight.

What do you do as your party trick? It's hardly a party trick, but I'm partial to the odd sing-song when enjoying downtime with friends and colleagues.

What is your favourite chocolate bar? Toblerone, due to taste and its triangulation - I like the power of three in business.

What has been the highlight of your career to date? Leading the growth of the UK business over the last three years.

Has 2014 been a good, bad or ugly year? Very good. We continue our excellent growth rates by winning and retaining major service contracts, and by being utterly obsessive with delivering long-term value to our customers.

How would you explain the IT channel to a stranger without boring them to death? I refuse to believe that anyone could be remotely bored when hearing about our industry - it's dynamic, challenging, rewarding and more exciting than ever. My guess is that the "stranger" would want to know how they can join rather than being bored to death.

Aside from the channel, my dream career would be... having recently returned from LA, I would say a Hollywood movie director.

What major issues will the channel face in 2015? ITaaS consumption models will continue to challenge traditional procurement and service delivery methods.
