What achievement are you most proud of?

Gaining a degree in procurement and supply chain management while working full-time in the business.

What has been the biggest change in the channel since you started working in it?

Fundamentally, I don't think it's changed that much. What we sell and how we sell has, but the channel itself is largely unchanged. However, change is coming, no doubt about it.

What three things could you not live without?

1. My Surface Pro 3 - the best computing device ever made. 2. My drums - they help satisfy my creative impulses (www.facebook.com/northernsocialband). 3. My Sonos Sound System, which is fantastic!

What has been your most embarrassing moment so far?

When I was training to be a golf pro when very young, the club pro showed me a picture of his wife, and I said "oh congratulations, when is she due" to which he replied "she's not pregnant" - she was just a curvy lady!

What do your family think you do all day?

Meetings, meetings, meetings!

Who is your ultimate celeb crush?

Sophie Dahl, or Dorian from Birds of a Feather.

What is your guilty pleasure?

Coconut Haystacks from our local baker.

What would be your first act if you were made Prime Minister?

Put more effort into the immigration crisis. It's a disaster and these people, and the countries they are fleeing from, need help.

Has 2015 been a good, bad or ugly year?

2014 was our best year in business ever, and 2015 is even better YTD. Personally it's been great - my children are growing up to be very special indeed.

If you didn't work in the IT channel, what would you do?

A role where I would be able to give something back to the world and to people less fortunate. Something philanthropic.

What major issues will the channel face in 2016?

As always, distribution has to change and adapt to the new world of Amazon and so on; resellers have to continue the push to demonstrate real service-driven value-add or they will become extinct.
