Kay Bruen

Managing director, Clipsham IT

What achievement are you most proud of?

Winning the under-18 Kenya Open Golf championship three years running.

What has been the biggest change in the channel since you started working in it?

That’s a hard one. I’m not sure that it has changed all that much except for the shift away from product sales to more of a managed service capability to mirror cloud adoption.

What three things could you not live without?

1. My two flat coat retrievers, Finn & Harley. They make me smile every day and I adore them. 2. Holidays (the more exotic the better), because I love travelling and it beats working. 3. Malbec (preferably from Argentina), because life without Malbec would be a tragedy.

What has been your most embarrassing moment so far?

I plead the Fifth Amendment as it was too embarrassing to share with the channel.

What do your family think you do all day?

Gossip.

Who is your ultimate celeb crush?

Jonny Wilkinson.

What is your guilty pleasure?

Salted caramel chocolate and of course Malbec.

What would be your first act if you were made Prime Minister?

Making it illegal to close the last pub in a village.

Has 2015 been a good, bad or ugly year?

A good one. I fulfilled a lifelong dream to go to Peru, and got to meet Jonny Wilkinson.

If you didn’t work in the IT channel, what would you do?

I would renovate property and live in the South of France.

What major issues will the channel face in 2016?

A cutback in government spending, and an increasingly competitive landscape with more giants being created by consolidation.
