Ian Kilpatrick
Chairman, Wick Hill Group
What achievement are you most proud of?
Being the father of a lovely, loving, smart daughter, and of course Wick Hill.
What has been the biggest change in the channel since you started working in it?
It's grown up a huge amount and is now generally extremely professional and has coped well with the huge changes that have taken place.
What three things could you not live without?
My bike, my trainers - both of which keep me fit and sane - and competition on which I thrive. What has been your most embarrassing moment so far? Raging on a skyway at having missed a plane and it then coming back to pick me up, and having to walk the length of the plane to my seat.
What do your family think you do all day?
Work to earn the pennies that they spend.
Who is your ultimate celeb crush?
Cameron Diaz.
What is your guilty pleasure?
Fast cars.
What would be your first act if you were made Prime Minister?
Aggressively review our approach to poverty, disability and unemployment. There is huge potential in many individuals, so running a cost-cutting system based around a minority of benefits abusers doesn't gain the value contained for the nation which could be available in supporting and developing the majority.
Has 2015 been a good, bad or ugly year?
It's been a great year. We're on track for record sales and our recent deal with the Rigby Group has significantly accelerated our EMEA expansion plans.
If you didn't work in the IT channel, what would you do?
Probably run a business in some kind of motorsport. Winning is somewhere in my genes.
What major issues will the channel face in 2016?
Change is the challenge; the rate of change continues to accelerate. In security this is particularly the case with huge challenges in identifying and delivering the correct solutions for both current and future threats.
