Ben Gower
Chief executive, Perspicuity
What achievement are you most proud of?
Understanding how to make a business out of the cloud and then making the transformation. Also our apprenticeship programme; we won apprentice employer of the year this year, which was amazing. Lots of people have worked bloody hard to make it real.
What has been the biggest change in the channel since you started working in it?
Me and the abolishment of egos.
What three things could you not live without?
1. Exercise - it stops me going mad. 2. Decent red wine - it stops me going mad. 3. A sea view (I just about have one) and that keeps me sane.
What has been your most embarrassing moment so far?
Too many faux pas to mention during presentations (mostly saved) but shaking an (open) bottle of ketchup all over the CIO of a FTSE-100 company during lunch was a bit special.
What do your family think you do all day?
Tell people what to do.
Who is your ultimate celeb crush?
Kylie Minogue.
What is your guilty pleasure?
Vanilla ice cream with toffee sauce.
What would be your first act if you were made Prime Minister?
Resign - it's a terrible job.
Has 2015 been a good, bad or ugly year?
Amazing. The cloud dream is being realised, becoming a more mature business and bearing the right kind of fruit. There is so much to look forward to as well.
If you didn't work in the IT channel, what would you do?
I'd love to be a landscape gardener or a cafe chef, and I secretly like plumbing.
What major issues will the channel face in 2016?
The cloud continues to move faster than the channel.
