Adrian Spink

Chief executive, Company85

What achievement are you most proud of?

Company85 winning IT Employer of the Year. Looking after our people is hugely important to us - so it's great to see our efforts being recognised.

What has been the biggest change in the channel since you started working in it?

I'd have to say consolidation. We've acquired DVS and XOR in the last two years, and we're certainly not the only ones taking that approach.

What three things could you not live without?

Playing football, a long hot shower and the occasional full English breakfast. But not necessarily in that order.

What has been your most embarrassing moment so far?

I can't go into detail, but it involved eight pints of Guinness and a bottle of banana flavoured Milk of Magnesia.

What do your family think you do all day?

Meetings. They seem to think I spend all day in meetings. Amazing how insightful even an eight-year-old can be!

Who is your ultimate celeb crush?

It's too hard to call. It's a toss up between Charlize Theron and Julianne Moore.

What is your guilty pleasure?

Take That. I saw them at the England Rugby World Cup kick-off recently and decided that after watching them on stage with Chris Robshaw and Courtney Lawes it was now OK to admit to being a fan.

What would be your first act if you were made Prime Minister?

I'm probably meant to say something about the NHS or education at this point, but I'd start by letting companies have a tax break for throwing a great staff Christmas party rather than making it a taxable benefit (I told you we like to look after our people).

Has 2015 been a good, bad or ugly year?

I always say ugly. Say "good" and people think you charge too much, "bad" and you lose their confidence. So it's always ugly.

If you didn't work in the IT channel, what would you do?

I used to claim I was a "freelance biscuit designer" rather than admit I worked in IT. So maybe I'd give that a go.

What major issues will the channel face in 2016?

Cloud, cloud, cloud. And the move to a services-based approach that will be needed in order to stay relevant. Luckily that's where Company85 can help...
