Andy Wright

UK commercial director, SCC

What has been the biggest change in the channel since you started working in it?

There no longer seems to be much demand for punch card readers.

What three things could you not live without?

I doubt any of these need me to explain in any detail: Sky Sports, my coffee machine and beer.

What has been your most embarrassing moment so far?

A recent favourite is bending over on the tube one morning and ripping my trousers (guess which bit!) leading to a whole day of work plus a dinner with a bit of air conditioning built into my suit.

What do your family think you do all day?

They have no idea.

Who is your ultimate celeb crush?

Keith Lemon.

What is your guilty pleasure?

Easy-viewing TV, such as Gogglebox, Storage Hunters, Man v Food...

What would be your first act if you were made Prime Minister?

An immediate review of what the purpose of the NHS is. Until we agree and understand this as a country I don't see how we can build a better and sustainable service.

Has 2015 been a good, bad or ugly year?

I think if you look on a global level the world has had a bad year (Ukraine, Greece, Chinese Economic slowdown, Syria, Iraq). Personally I have had a fairly average year.

If you didn't work in the IT channel, what would you do?

I fancy running a bar somewhere (anywhere) warm...

What major issues will the channel face in 2016?

As customers switch to a more services-oriented consumption of IT, the financial stability of their supply partners will become increasingly important. Moving a service is not like changing your source of boxes and software licences.
