Managing director, Partner & Commercial Sales, Cisco UK&I
What achievement are you most proud of?
I've finally found the perfect balance in my life, so that I can live it to the full with those I care most for.
What has been the biggest change in the channel since you started working in it?
The diversity and complexity of offers that are now expected by customers from channel partners - be them technology, commercial or consumption - has increased exponentially.
What three things could you not live without?
1. Music, because it really does soothe the soul. 2. The countryside, because it smoothes away the stresses of the working day. 3. Last but certainly not least, my dog, Alfie, who always has a wonderful greeting waiting for me when I get home. It really is enough to lift anyone's spirits.
What do your family think you do all day?
Recently they think I am a Saga travel rep, as I am always on the move and never seem to be in the same place for very long.
Who is your ultimate celeb crush?
I'd have to say Pink - can you imagine the fun?
What is your guilty pleasure?
Classic cars. However, the pleasure far outweighs the guilt.
What would be your first act if you were made Prime Minister?
I would introduce a Moral Fair Play rule into politics, similar to the Financial Fair Play rule in football, but with more bite.
Has 2015 been a good, bad or ugly year?
It has been a great year! My kids reached relative independence, life is more spontaneous and fun than ever, and I am blessed with an awesome team that make even the toughest days a joy.
If you didn't work in the IT channel, what would you do?
I'd probably be an archaeologist. I love the excitement of the unknown, as well as the chance of a magical discovery, and gaining a glimpse into lives long past.
What major issues will the channel face in 2016?
The risk of disintermediation by the cloud, the impact of changing consumption models on cash flow and profitability, and the continual battle to identify, acquire and retain the talent necessary to thrive.
