Shaune Parsons

Managing director, Computerworld Wales

What is your greatest career move to date?

I've not had many but Computerworld Centres going bust in 1992 was good as we did a management buyout.

What is top of your bucket list?

Salmon fishing in Wild Alaska with brown bears all around.

What has changed most since you started working in the channel?

I started in 1983 so have seen many changes come and go, but the internet and speeds compared to back then are incredible. Remember the old modems!

How do you think Brexit is going to affect the channel?

Costs. We are seeing major increases already, clients putting off decisions and a lot of uncertainty in the market.

What is your least favourite task during the working day?

Sales meetings when you know most of it is bull&*%$.

If you were an animal, what would you be?

I have often been referred to a ferret down a rabbit hole!

If you won the big one on EuroMillions, what would you do?

You said keep it short! But one is to help many of the staff and pay off their mortgages. I only have 12 so it won't make too much of a dent.

What is your worst habit?

Talking too much. I just love talking about our company.

How has 2016 been for you?

It has been a great year for business with major education wins; a bad year for my back with two major ops.

If you didn't work in the IT channel, what would be your dream career?

A successful racehorse trainer. I just love the national hunt and horses.

What major issues will the channel face in 2017?

Brexit and the banks making money from the misery we all face with the exchange rate. Cost goes up, clients buy less.
