Richard Blanford

Managing director, Fordway
What is your greatest career move to date?
Setting up Fordway.
What is top of your bucket list?
Travelling round India or Brazil as I've never been to either country - but it may change next week.
What has changed most since you started working in the channel?
Everyone else seems to be getting younger. I've been doing this a long time - we celebrated our 25th anniversary this year.
How do you think Brexit is going to affect the channel?
Apart from exchange rate issues causing kit price increases, not much.
What is your least favourite task during the working day?
Waking up - I love sleeping!
If you were an animal, what would you be?
I'm told I'm the living embodiment of ‘be more dog'.
If you won the big one on EuroMillions, what would you do?
Accelerate my process to make myself redundant and spend a few months travelling.
What is your worst habit?
Talking over other people when I'm enthused about something.
How has 2016 been for you?
Personally very good; commercially we could do better as our results were impacted by a couple of self-inflicted mistakes we have now corrected.
If you didn't work in the IT channel, what would be your dream career?
If you could have been paid for it when I was younger, a professional rugby player.
What major issues will the channel face in 2017?
Ensuring we stay relevant to our customers.
