Tell us something most people won't know about you

I'm teetotal… OK, OK, I lied!

What has been your highlight of 2018 so far?

We've been fortunate to have had lots of highlights this year including breaking the £20m barrier, but I'm particularly proud of the recognition we've received from our vendor partners - EMEA Distributor of the Year from Blackberry and Best Cloud Distributor from Acronis.

Who would play you in the film of your life? Probably Tom Hardy.

Which tech firm (other than your own!) do you most admire?

Apple. Steve Jobs created a technology company that created cool things - but with the absolute best user experience. He totally understood the balance between value, design and technology.

What is your guiltiest pleasure?

Listening to Video Killed The Radio Star on full volume in the car.

What is the most irritating tech buzzphrase of 2018?

‘Artificial intelligence', simply because it's over-used and misunderstood. I'm seeing some truly disruptive AI technology companies - particularly in cyber-security - that have the potential to create significant opportunities for the channel. Unfortunately, these disruptors are being over-shadowed by vendors that have jumped on the buzzword bandwagon, bolting on the AI phrase to their messaging without really having a solution behind it.

What would be your first act if you were made Prime Minister?

I'd introduce a four-day working week. There are many studies that show a four-day working week improves employees' life satisfaction and mental health massively, without a loss in productivity.

What's the biggest untapped opportunity facing the channel?

The move to managed security services, for sure.

What is your most treasured possession?

My dog (but don't tell my wife).

What do your family think you do all day?

Drink coffee and go out to lunch. They don't think I work, that's for sure.

Who has been your mentor in business?

He wasn't a personal mentor but someone I really admired was Steve Jobs.
