Stewart Filler

Director of partner management, Computacenter (UK)

Tell us something most people won't know about you

I'm actually only 39 despite the wrinkles.

What has been your highlight of 2018 so far?

There are so many to choose from. However, as a manager of a large team, I get great satisfaction seeing them develop and thrive in their careers. I get extremely proud when they are nominated for industry awards.

Who would play you in the film of your life?

Leonardo DiCaprio.

Which tech firm (other than your own!) do you most admire?

HPi. Having worked with the company for many years, its ability to re-invent itself, drive profitability but still maintain channel integrity, is credible in the competitive environment we all work in.

What is your guiltiest pleasure?

I wouldn't say they are guilty pleasures as I don't feel an ounce of guilt but have been known to help my team celebrate success into the early hours.

What is the most irritating tech buzzphrase of 2018?

‘Leaning in', ‘reaching out', ‘headwinds'.

What would be your first act if you were made Prime Minister?

Resign and ask for my old job back as this one is much more rewarding and certainly much more fun.

What's the biggest untapped opportunity facing the channel?

Leveraging the younger generation. Live streaming: increasing brand awareness, engaging customers and building strong loyalty.

What is your most treasured possession?

My memories and experiences. I've been privileged to have had some special family times as well as some great experiences in the corporate environment.

What do your family think you do all day?

Shuffle paperclips and then purchase a few things. And the occasional ‘networking social'.

Who has been your mentor in business?

Having been at Computacenter for 18 years, having a stable leadership team has been very beneficial. I've also been very lucky over the years to have had some of the best managers in the industry (you know who are so no names required).
